Our Story

How it all started...

Our church started in the Fall of 1980 as a small neighborhood Bible study. As more people attended we moved into a nearby clubhouse and in January of 1981, Sunday morning services began.

God has been so good to us as none of us had any experience in starting a church. We just trusted the Lord and taught His Word and He gave the increase. Over the years we have continued to see the faithfulness of God and He continues to provide for our needs and has brought in many wonderful people to serve.

He made us a family and filled our little church with His love and Spirit. Since those early days the Lord has allowed us to plant several other churches around the area and eventually He opened the door for us to teach His Word on the radio.

Expanding the vision...

The Lord continues to open doors through community outreaches like Cornerstone Fellowship in downtown Chicago. Opportunities to serve the homeless and minister are scheduled regularly throughout the year. Or,  join up with our Evangelism Street Ministry that goes out to the Woodfield Mall to share the Gospel with people.

We also hold community church events that provide outreach opportunities to minister in the area.

It is our prayer that God would do exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ask or think—all for the glory of His Kingdom...

Where we are headed...

God is opening doors to walk with Him, young and old.

It is our prayer here at Calvary Chapel to raise up disciples who will go out into all of the world and share the Good News of Jesus Christ!
